The first time I ever heard "I will always love You" was on advert for beefburgers and it was probably the most poignant version I have ever heard. Also remember a song "Talking of Happiness" which was very touching but cant recall what the advert was for. Remember there was once a CD of such themes. Listened to it lots some time back when I was a regular visitor to Cambridge County Farmers Club at now defunct Owen Webb house.

Another non starter due for deletion sometime tomorrow No need to take things too serious on here Rodders. With only you, Riggers and I as posters, responses will be few and far. As Riggers has stated before, if he deleted threads with no responses the forum would have been long gone. Don’t take it too personally. FYI - I tried Mr Google seeking your adverts but couldn’t find much. I remember the songs, although you could be talking Dolly or Whitney. Can’t really imagine Dolly loving a burger Hope your good lady is well. It is good to talk.

Has hd second cardioversion and on some pills with nasty side effects. Ok for moment but consultant says inevitable that it will recur. I may have told you this already.

Must be very difficult for both of you right now. It’s heartbreaking to feel so helpless - I’ve been there. Hope all works out well. As I said, it’s good to talk and share your current concerns. Always available if you need.

I never even saw the thread, and as you say, with only a couple of us posting then no interest is more likely than not, but as you also say, we've been there before so if the message hasn't got through then there is not much else to be said. Although a strategy is to expand a thread yourself until such time as it hits home with someone. Adverts are a good topic though, or they were until the woke diversity and inclusion nutters got their hooks in to them over the last 2 years. I turn most of them off these days. Nothing springs to mind as particularly memorable over the years but if someone started a list (that's not a suggestion btw ) then I'm sure the memories would come flooding back. Best wishes to you and your wife Rodders, sounds like a particularly tough period for you both.

I’ve been up the Burj Khalifa a few times both unlikely to get any response but stored in the memory for future reference.

I should have worded that better. Sounds like a ‘Carry On’ film Carry On Private Widdle, Brother Belcher, Sir Sidney Ruff-Diamond (I'm having Tiffin ), Bungdit Din chief of the warlike Burpa tribe, Citizen B'day, The Rumpo Kid to name but a few (Khasi of Kalabar) "May the benevolence of the god Shivoo bring blessings on your house." (Sidney Ruff-Diamond) "And on yours." (Khasi of Kalabar) "And may his wisdom bring success in all your undertakings." (Sidney Ruff-Diamond) "And in yours." (Khasi of Kalabar) "And may his radiance light up your life." (Sidney Ruff-Diamond) "And up yours."

And on the subject of 60s humour, have you seen that That's TV is broadcasting all of the original Monty Python series?

I know ‘‘twas me that brought up ‘Carry On’ movies - but I never could get into them, found them very unfunny. To be honest, I couldn’t stand watching them. Apologies, but your quote has gone right over my head.

We do, I’m sure we will always agree or politely disagree. ‘Carry on’, awful but understand to many they were classic. Maybe I was just too young for the ‘ohhhh matron’.
