Privileged today to drop in at Northside speedway and chat with @stevelaws1uk
(interrupting his and others' work!). Steve was all "seats here and here, hospitality over there, viewing area just there, pits down here" and formula for track shape, kindly drawn in dirt. So if overall straight line length is x, then minimum width is half x; of course they've gone for well over minimum width, producing big (and banked) bends. Steve is huge on quality of racing and while I didn't really follow the maths, I was agog at the view. It is sensational!
