Interest rates 1.75% wow!

I was a bit p'd off when I ignored the 15% interest rate on offer for an Abbey National TESSA (Tax exempt special savings account) back in the day.

In 2008 I had 4 savings accounts paying 4.4%, 5.25%, 5.76% & 6.01% - kids today

When I bought my first house you could get great rates on savings accounts. Problem being with mortgage interest rates being 10-12%, couldn’t afford to save.
