The newly-crowned European champion already has one major title after lifting the continental crown in Pardubice last Friday (23/9/22).But he would love to add Speedway GP World Championship silver and needs just four championship points at the FIM Speedway GP of Poland – Torun to seal second place. In recent weeks, Madsen has been insisting that his main focus is on preparing for 2023 as Polish star Bartosz Zmarzlik ran away with the world title. But that doesn’t stop him from wanting to deliver a big performance in Torun, where he topped the podium with a 21-point, seven-ride maximum in 2019.

Great Britain racer Robert Lambert hailed triple world champion Jason Crump’s impact on his Speedway GP fortunes as he bids to seal World Championship bronze in Torun on Saturday.
The former European champion bids to race his way into third spot in the SGP standings at the series-closing For Nature Solutions FIM Speedway GP of Poland – Torun this Saturday. Lambert finished 10th in the 2021 series, so his transformation from promising newcomer into medal contender has delighted his fans. As part of his bid to reach the top, the Norfolk ace added Speedway GP great Crump to his pit crew as a coach and advisor for 2022. The move is clearly paying dividends and Lambert is delighted with Crump’s impact since they joined forces at the start of the season. “He has been a great and valued part of the team,” he said. “He gives all the tips possible that can benefit me and there have been a few things I have been struggling with. He put forward some ideas about how we could make it better and that’s working. “There are many different little things at this level, which make a difference, and it’s great to have him in the team. It was a great decision to have him alongside me. “Any information he can give in different moments and scenarios is valuable. He has been in those situations before and has seen other people in those situations. He has the experience and knowhow of what to do.” Crump’s pearls of wisdom have not just benefitted the rider. “I think having him there works well with my mechanics too,” Lambert said. “It improves them as well as myself. The whole team is improving and we are making good strides towards the end of the season.” sgp
