Like every Panthers Fan my wish is for Speedway to continue!! I just do not see however how anybody realistically expects that a plan for such a large swathe of land will be stopped for the sake of Speedway.Arguably with a little good will some accommodation could have been reached for a few more years. Just do not see how people seem to expect lease for Panthers was an automatic roll over year on year!! Had to be negotiated every season as far as I can see. Planning permission for proposed development may well be refused but just do not see how there is anyway this means Speedway will continue or force the owners to renew the lease. Unpalatable as it may be IMO the future of Panthers is not at Showground.

Unpalatable as it may be IMO the future of Panthers is not at Showground. So you keep saying Rodders. I think the same but every time AEPG (& they've somehow roped in the EEAS this time) go defensive and you examine the detail then you realise that this is perhaps not a shoe in by any means? I'm sure bigger projects than this have bitten the dust before on much less? Bratters and co have plenty of local knowledge, information and support (something that AEPG are sadly lacking) so who knows where it ends up? They will not give up and that land sale (which AEPG said is dependent on planning being approved) is going to get very messy next year which is why Butterfield and co have hit the panic button again. Considering that in an e-mail exchange with me Butterfield said about the loss of the Peterborough Speedway (y'know that thing not mentioned in LP30) that "The events are poorly attended" so makes you wonder why AEPG are concerned about a highly active group of supporters? Can't be enough to worry them surely?
