Very sad news. Always a great listen on Radio 1. Even better on Radio 2. Only listening to him last week or two. Very shocked to hear this.

Still working recently Was he ill because I can't see a cause of death reported? I don’t know and also haven’t seen a cause of death. Just found this. Doesn't help much but interesting all of the same:
What is Steve Wright's cause of death? No details of Steve Wright's cause of death have been made public. He is reported to have a number of allergies - including to penicillin and was on a weight loss journey. At his heaviest Wright weighed 18 stone and had been trying to achieve 12 stone.[/i] Funnily enough I did a search last night and clicked on images and in one of the latest ones (about 18 months I think that it was?) I was shocked because I'd always known him as a slim chap. He was really huge in a bad suit with trainers. I didn't expect that and that was certainly not a healthy picture of him.

Didn’t realise he had become such a big man. 18 Stone is on the obese side. Talking to the lady at the fuel station today, she said he did a radio session last Sunday. A couple of days later gone.

He passed away on Monday."

Some I see are suggesting he committed suicide!!! That would be a logical conclusion IMO from that statement but time will tell when more details surface. "Police and paramedics were called to Wright’s home on Monday morning after reports of "an incident" at his central London flat. Emergency services rushed to the home of the radio presenter in Marylebone, west London. Wright was pronounced dead at the scene."Who called them and what incident
