Sad to see above had died aged circa 96.Remember him as taken by my then school to see England v Spain at Wembley circa 1954/5. A foggy Wednesday afternoon and we all thought that the match would not go ahead. It did and England won I think 4-0. Ron was in goal that day.

I edited it to make it read better. I hope that it still says what you intended. Always find it sad when someone gets close to 100 but doesn't get there. My dad died in 1996 in his 70s but his best mate passed in 2019 at 96. I hoped that he'd reach 100 but it wasn't to be. Nearly right Rodders, it was 4-1: England v Spain, 30 November 1955 - what a front 3 that was at that time

Nearly right Rodders, it was 4-1: England v Spain, 30 November 1955 - what a front 3 that was at that time I think that was the first top flight match I ever saw. Think I may have gone to see Wealdstone at Lower Mead and possibly saw Watford Reserves v Northampton one boxing day about that time. Went with a friend of mine at the time Mark Hart whose uncle I think Jimmy Meadows played for Watford at the time.
