I know this is a Panthers forum but ive never ever got so nervous or animated at Panthers meeting as i did at LR last night. Simply fantastic stuff from the Posh. As i said before there was only one gig in Peterborough last night and to be at it was a privilige.

I tend not to get animated anyway but must say that I did actually rise from my seat when the second goal went in. 90 mins of top notch entertainment against 15 if every heat was a blinder I phoned a friend at half time when it was heat 10 at the EoES (I think) who said that there was some good racing but irritating presenter So you pays your money and takes your choice but as a fan of both I don't think that I got it wrong and it wouldn't have happened if Panthers had other options which unfortunately they didn't! Roll on the arrival of the Bennies next Thursday

And in a non stop few days it's the big one at OT 3pm Sunday
Head to Head
These clubs have gone toe to toe 23 times, with Huddersfield winning 10, Peterborough eight, and five drawn.
This is their fourth meeting this season. Peterborough won their home league clash 4-2, and drew 1-1 in West Yorkshire. Huddersfield won 3-2 in the second round of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy at the Galpharm.
Peterborough prevailed 4-3 on aggregate in the only previous time they have faced each other in the play-offs in 1992. Posh went on to gain promotion to the third tier by beating Stockport in the final.
The clubs have never previously met on neutral territory.
Huddersfield
Huddersfield are looking for the victory that will see them returning to the second tier, which they last graced in 2000/01.
The Terriers are unbeaten in 23 in all competitions, having won 13 and drawn 10 since Arsenal beat them in the fourth round of the FA Cup on 30 January.
The West Yorkshire club have not lost a regular league in this calendar year, completing 25 without defeat (W15, D10), since defeat to Southampton on 28 December. They have subsequently added two play-off draws to that.
Lee Clark, in his first third season in charge, has steadily been improving Huddersfield. They finished 2008/09 in ninth, with 18 wins and 68 points. In 2009/10 they were sixth, with 23 wins and 80 points. This season they concluded in third, with 25 wins and 87 points, five points outside the top two.
This is the 25th year of the play-offs. On 10 of the previous 24, the club finishing one place outside the automatic spots at third league level has been promoted through the play-offs.
This is Huddersfield's sixth play-off campaign and second in as many seasons. They have been promoted through them twice on the only occasions they reached the final; to the second tier in 1995, and to the third level in 2004.
Overall, Huddersfield's record in these end-of season campaigns, is won three, drawn nine and lost four of 16 matches.
Peterborough
Peterborough are looking for an immediate return to the Championship.
They have spent only one of the last 17 seasons in the second tier.
Posh ended the regular season in fourth spot, immediately below Huddersfield, but with eight fewer points.
The London Road club were the top scoring league club in the country with 106 goals. Their 46 League One matches generated an amazing 181 goals (3.93 per game).
Posh won 23 regular league games, as opposed to Huddersfield's 25. They scored 29 more goals than the Terriers, but also conceded 27 more.
The club finishing two places below the automatic promotion spots in the third tier has been promoted on five occasions.
Darren Ferguson will take his charges to Old Trafford, where he began his playing career in 1990, making 30 appearances as a midfielder for Manchester United under his father, Sir Alex.
Ferguson returned to London Road in January, two years after leaving them at the end of the first managerial appointment of his career, when he lifted them from the fourth level to the Championship in successive seasons.
This is Peterborough's third play-off campaign. They are yet to fail in them, having been promoted to the second tier via them in 1992, and to the third level in 2000.
Of eight play-off matches, Posh have won six, drawn one and lost one.

Peterborough secured promotion back to the Championship with a 3-0 win over Huddersfield in the League One play-off final at Old Trafford.
Tommy Rowe, Craig Mackail-Smith and Grant McCann scored the killer goals in the 78th, 80th and 85th minutes as Huddersfield suffered their first defeat in 28 league matches.
Rowe's goal - a header from McCann's free-kick - came after a spell of dominance by Huddersfield, but there was no sign of that by the time Mackail-Smith had fired his 35th goal of the season and McCann delivered the knockout blow with a fine free-kick five minutes from the end.
Victory marked a triumphant return to Peterborough for Darren Ferguson, who was sacked by Preston in December after leaving London Road in November 2009 - and he has now led Posh to a third promotion in four seasons.
More than 35,000 Huddersfield fans looked on in disbelief as their season was shattered in seven devastating minutes, Lee Clark's side denied promotion in the cruellest of fashions by a first league defeat since December.
The West Yorkshire outfit made one change from the side that kicked off the second leg of their penalty shoot-out win over Bournemouth in the semi-final, with midfielder Scott Arfield replacing leading goalscorer Jordan Rhodes.
Peterborough were unchanged following their 4-3 aggregate win over MK Dons in their semi-final.
Posh fans were on their feet in the fifth minute when Mackail-Smith scampered clear, but his low shot was deflected on to Ian Bennett's left-hand post.
Peterborough had Clark's side on the back foot in the opening exchanges before Town skipper Peter Clarke's header, comfortably held by Posh goalkeeper Paul Jones, signalled a better spell for Huddersfield.
Posh striker Lee Tomlin and Town midfielder Lee Peltier were both booked for rash tackles during a feisty six-minute spell towards the end of the first half.
And although chances were at a premium, Peterborough's three-pronged attack of Mackail-Smith, George Boyd and Tomlin carried by far the greater threat than Huddersfield's isolated striker Benik Afobe.
But Town rallied and winger Gary Roberts' curling free-kick was saved at full stretch by Jones just before the break, while Afobe's shot on the turn flashed just wide.
Mackail-Smith then spurned another golden chance in first-half injury time following good work from Tomlin and Boyd, firing wide from 12 yards again with only Bennett to beat.
McCann curled a left-footed free-kick just over the crossbar five minutes into the second half.
But Huddersfield began to get on top and went close to taking a 59th-minute lead when winger Danny Ward cut inside and crashed an angled shot against the top of the crossbar.
Town defender Antony Kay was lucky to receive only a yellow card after cutting down Mackail-Smith in the 75th minute and Tomlin wasted the free-kick.
But three minutes later Town defender Gary Naysmith tripped Boyd on the edge of the penalty area and from McCann's free-kick, Rowe flicked his header beyond Bennett.
Posh fans had had no time to catch breath when Boyd stole clear down the left and his cut back into the area found Mackail-Smith, whose low shot took a slight deflection off Kay and spun away from Bennett inside the far post.
Town were then dealt a knockout blow after Clarke felled Mackail-Smith, with McCann clipping home an exquisite free-kick to seal a stunning finale.

The normally competent Sky commentators, Alan Parry in this case, made a ricket that made me chuckle

Very pleased to see them back in the Championship and hope they learned something from the last time they got promoted.
MacAnthony will need to bolster the squad this time, thats providing they dont want to come straight back down yet again.

Very pleased to see them back in the Championship and hope they learned something from the last time they got promoted. MacAnthony will need to bolster the squad this time, thats providing they dont want to come straight back down yet again. and therein lies the problem. The first thing we'll do is sell our best player and goal machine. D Mac has just said on Talksport that we can't pay the wages Macca will get elsewhere, and neither should we on 6,000 crowds. Our objective is survival because we really are out of our depth against what's in the Championship. Whether we can consolidate and build to stay for a few years, time will tell Just enjoy the ride I suppose? West Ham and Birmingham are better than Plymouth and Stevenage!

I think they'll do ok in the Championship, they will have learnt from the mistakes of 2009/10. I'm looking forward to the ride.

I'm looking forward to the ride. bookies not convinced: Id be quite happy if Posh finish finish above Coventry, Palace, Barnsley and Donny as that would mean another season in the Championship. Anyway what do bookies know? Leeds at 20/1 is a very good bet for the team that finished 7th this season.

Anyway what do bookies know? Ladbrokes, Paddy Power, Ladrokes again, Jennings and the Tote shops all in the space of 100 yards on Broadway would suggest that they know quite a bit. I totally agree though. I wasn't too fussed either way tbh but now we're there let's see how many big scalps we can take And Birmingham and West Ham at London Road are so much more enticing than Stevenage and Crawley, bring on the bandwagon jumping fans!
