George Boyd had given Posh the lead just after half-time when he outmuscled Kalifa Cisse before sliding the ball into the bottom corner. Tomlin, recalled after recovering from an ankle injury, doubled their advantage when he fired in a fierce shot from 25 yards out. Marvin Elliott headed in Jamal Campbell-Ryce's cross for City late on.
