We need 0.87 to fit in Jesper for Nobby Why dont we try and get Nicki's average reduced or tell Nicki to take it easy for a little bit and get his average down to 9.50. Then we get Kacper in reserve and then we can win the Elite League title Or maybe make a deal with Swindon to back let them sign Monberg if they back us up in order to get Nicki's average down to a suatible amount which means that we can get Zabik in for Nobby. Attaboy.

From Panthers website. JESPER B. Monberg is on his way back to the Elite League after joining Swindon. The Readypower Panthers have agreed to an initial 28-day loan deal that will help the Dane resurrect his British career. Jesper hasn’t ridden regularly in this country since a 12-match spell at Wolverhampton in 2008 when he only averaged around four and a half points a meeting. But the authorities refused to let him return on that figure because his dozen meetings were split between five at Monmore Green and seven away. Instead he was lumbered with an old average nearly two points a meeting higher and despite several attempts the Panthers were unable to persuade the BSPA Management Committee to adjust his average. It has effectively ruled him out of Peterborough’s team building plans even though he came over and rode in last year’s seasonal opener. Team boss Trevor Swales said: “We have considered Jesper several times but always felt his average of nearly six and a half was too high. "It may be that it will now be reduced and we have only agreed to him going to Swindon for an initial 28 days loan – we will reconsider the situation at the end of that month taking into account our own circumstances. “At the moment the only way we could fit Jesper into our line-up is by releasing one of Nicki Pedersen, Troy Batchelor, Linus Sundström or Krzysztof Buczkowski but you never know what will happen in future. “We would much rather see Jesper riding than having to spend another season out of the Elite League.” If you care to work it out you will find he's on a 4.?? average which means the rules must have changed which means as usual our fingers are not on the button. Forget 28 days that's bull and our cop out excuse. What a missed opportunity. It appears as long as a rider has completed 4 home and 4 away his average will be counted and a GSA provided but this is typical BSPA bullshyte that he can suddenly ride for Swindon when all previous attempts to include Jesper have met with failure. I have said many times that rulings like these depends on which teams ask and this decision to allow Jesper in on an average the BSPA said wasnt official at the time is just farce and yet more proof (if anyone needed it) that the whole ruling body makes it up as they go along. I do agree the 28 day comment is worthless, once he is in he is in, yet again our Director of Speedway has proven his finger isnt on the button, as for Trevor I think its plain only Trevor thinks he picks the team, everyone else with a single cell of brain power knows it isnt. i kept pointing out he'd be 4.51 going by theo piper but it could be that he probaly wouldn't have got that 4.51 average if he rode for panthers best hope we don't face the robins in the next 28 days

MONBERG MOVE UPDATE Wednesday April 20, 2011 SWINDON co-owner Gary Patchett has slammed reports suggesting Jesper B Monberg has only joined the club on a 28-day deal.
Monberg, a Peterborough asset, signed for the Robins at the weekend alongside fellow countryman Nicolai Klindt.
And Patchett insists Monberg hasn’t spoken to Peterborough about any potential return to the East of England Showground.
He said: “Jesper is committed to Swindon we were very surprised to read comments from Peterborough suggesting he could figure for them later in the season.
“We looked closely at the lower average applicable to Jesper and knew we could accommodate him within the moves we have made this week - and we had to do something.
“We have invested heavily in making it possible for Jesper to resume his British career and there is no way we would have done that just for a month so he could then move back to Peterborough.
“I just want Robins fans to be aware of the situation and felt it was necessary to clarify the position.”
So was Trevor telling porkies.
I wouldnt mind betting Patchetts initial request for permission to speak to Monberg was interesting to say the least after the Batchelor debacle last year, I wouldnt mind betting the word off was used somewhere along the line.

So was Trevor telling porkies. The trouble with our lot is when they drop a goolie instead of putting there hands up and filling in the hole they just keep on digging. Trevor doesn't quite get how the media works these days does he?

You know by now the golden rules: "Swales said" - ignore it and move on!
"Patchett said" ignore it and move on!
and for those confused: Team boss Trevor Swales said: “We have considered Jesper several times but always felt his average of nearly six and a half was too high. “It may be that it will now be reduced and we have only agreed to him going to Swindon for an initial 28 days loan – we will reconsider the situation at the end of that month taking into account our own circumstances. “At the moment the only way we could fit Jesper into our line-up is by releasing one of Nicki Pedersen, Troy Batchelor, Linus Sundström or Krzysztof Buczkowski but you never know what will happen in future. “We would much rather see Jesper riding than having to spend another season out of the Elite League.”

ROBINS 42 BIRMINGHAM 51
SWINDON’S stuttering start to the season continued with a surprise 51-42 Elite League defeat by Birmingham at the Abbey on Thursday.
Scott Nicholls continued his good form with 17 for Ronnie Russell’s men but former Blunsdon men James Wright and Krzysztof Kasprzak (14 each) proved too strong.
Nicholls scored the maximum six-points from a tactical ride in Heat 10 but Birmingham went on to secure the win with races in hand.
Robins were once again without the injured Simon Stead and they used the rider replacement facility. They will be looking for revenge when the sides meet again at Perry Barr on Friday night (7.30).
SWINDON 42: Scott Nicholls 17, Nicolai Klindt 10+1, Jesper B Monberg 7+2, Maciej Janowski 4+2, Justin Sedgmen 3, Josh Grajczonek 1, Simon Stead r/r.
BIRMINGHAM 51: James Wright 14+1, Krzysztof Kasprzak 14, Ben Barker 10, Daniel Nermark 5+1, Dakota North 5, Daniel King 2+1, Ales Dryml 1+1.

SWINDON ROBINS: Scott Nicholls (2-3-3-3-3-FX)14, Jesper B. Monberg (1*-3-2*-2-2*)10+3, Nicolai Klindt (1-2*-2-3-2)10+1, Maciej Janowski (0-3-1-2*-2)8+1, Simon Stead r/r, Justin Sedgmen (0-0-0)0, Cory Gathercole (3-2*-0-R-1*)7+2
POOLE PIRATES: Chris Holder (3-1-4^-1-3)12, Renat Gafurov (0-0-3-1*)4+1, Darcy Ward (2*-3-FX-3-2*)10+2, Jason Doyle (3-1-1-3)8, Davey Watt (FX-0-2-0)2, Stuart Robson (2-1-0-1-0)4, Christian Hefenbrock (1*-1-1)3+1
Heat 1: Holder, Nicholls, Monberg, Gafurov, 66.63 (3-3)
Holder from the gate. Monberg zips past Gafurov on bend four of lap two.
Heat 2: Gathercole, Robson, Hefenbrock, Sedgmen, 67.84 (6-6)
Gathercole wins it with one of his best efforts of the season so far. The other three riders are dead level out of bend two but Sedgmen falls to the back and his challenge ebbs away as the race progresses.
Heat 3: Doyle, Ward, Klindt, Janowski, 67.74 (7-11)
Doyle rides a good race while Ward and Klindt fight like tigers for second behind him. Janowski is never in it.
Heat 4 (re-run x2): Monberg, Gathercole, Hefenbrock, Watt (FX) (12-12)
Watt crashes pretty heavily on bend four and is excluded. At the second attempt it's an unsatisfactory start. Monberg powers between Hefenbrock and Gathercole on bend two, and Gathercole then rounds the Poole rider with a lovely sweeping move on bends one and two of lap two. Maximum time.
Heat 5: Janowski, Klindt, Holder, Gafurov, 66.87 (17-13)
Janowski had a pretty forgettable first ride, but he wins his second by a country mile from the gate. Klindt got passed by Gafurov on bend four but bites back on bend two of lap two. Holder had a shocker and overtook his teammate in the closing stages.
Heat 6: Nicholls, Monberg, Robson, Watt, 67.26 (22-14)
Nicholls wins the race to the first corner and Monberg goes from fourth to second on bend two. That's three maximums in a row now and Robins look as good as they have done all season.
Heat 7: Ward, Klindt, Doyle, Sedgmen, 67.91 (24-18)
Brilliant battle between Ward and Klindt for top spot, which the Aussie eventually wins on the back straight of lap three.
Heat 8: Gafurov, Monberg, Hefenbrock, Gathercole, 68.28 (26-22)
Poole are on a 5-1 until Monberg overtakes Hefenbrock up the inside on the back straight of lap three. The Pirates are hitting back here, though.
Heat 9: Klindt, Watt, Janowski, Robson, 67.91 (30-24)
Watt hits the front but Klindt rips round the top of the Aussie on bend two. Good response from Swindon.
Heat 10 (re-run): Nicholls, Monberg, Doyle, Ward (FX), 67.47 (35-25)
Very strange race from Ward. He's nowhere at the start, powers into second and is after Nicholls on lap two, but goes careering into the air fence on bend three. Nicholls gates to win in the re-run. Monberg is locked together with Doyle at the first bend but forces his way through and it's a comfortable maximum in the end.
Heat 11: Nicholls, Holder (tac), Gafurov, Sedgmen, 67.15 (38-30)
Huge gate from Nicholls and a great ride. Sedgmen gets close to Gafurov on lap three but cannot quite pip him.
Heat 12: Ward, Klindt, Robson, Gathercole (R), 68.18 (40-34)
Klindt holds the lead all the way to the back straight of lap four, when Ward finally reels him in. Gathercole retires with some sort of mechanical problem.
Heat 13: Nicholls, Janowski, Holder, Watt, 68.19 (45-35)
For my money that's the ride of the night from Janowski. He's second out of the traps behind Nicholls and Holder is all over the young Pole throughout. It's a miracle Janowski manages to stay ahead and credit to him for some superb defensive riding. Nicholls top-drawer out front.
Heat 14: Doyle, Janowski, Gathercole, Robson, 68.88 (48-38)
Janowski went from fourth to second at the start and initially challenged Doyle, but the Poole man is not to be denied.
Heat 15 (re-run), Gathercole 15m: Holder, Ward, Gathercole, Nicholls (FX), 67.87 (49-43)
Nicholls is in second when he hits a bump on bend two lap two and goes down. It's very harsh on the Brit who has been superb. Bizarrely Klindt fails to make it out within the two-minute time allowance and is penalised by starting 15m down. Again he fails to make it out so Gathercole takes over, and has a thankless task against the Pirates pair, who steal a point for their team.

Swindon Robins 51, Eastbourne Eagles 41SWINDON gave their most complete performance of the season last night as they took three precious points against Elite League pace-setters Eastbourne. As good as the previous week’s home triumph against Poole had been, it was tinged with disappointment at the knowledge that the Robins had missed out on maximum points. But this time there were no such regrets as the Robins saw the job through till the end, emerging comfortable 51-41 winners against Trevor Geer’s men. Still missing skipper Simon Stead to a rib injury, the hosts coped admirably in his absence and Scott Nicholls led the line with a score of 14. Jesper B. Monberg dovetailed superbly with the former Ipswich man and Cory Gathercole well and truly outshone Cameron Woodward at reserve with a haul of 9+1. It said it all about the home side’s display that they only lost two individual heats all night, and they got off to the ideal start as Monberg and Nicholls romped to a 5-1. Gathercole zipped past guest Dakota North into top spot in the reserves’ battle next, and the points were also shared in the next race as new Blunsdon favourite Nicolai Klindt secured victory. Eastbourne were hamstrung by number one Bjarne Pedersen’s failure to clock up a race win all night and in the second of his outings he was beaten by Maciej Janowski. Honours ended even in race six before the visitors took their first heat advantage, Lewis Bridger making it five points from two races while Simon Gustafsson came home in third. Swindon’s response was instant with the red-hot duo of Monberg and Gathercole hammering in a 5-1 against the unimpressive Lukas Dryml and the decidedly average Woodward. And the home advantage was taken to 32-22 thanks to a second triumph for Janowski, before a 3-3 in heat 10 prefaced a tactical ride for Pedersen in race 11. It did not pay off. Pedersen initially held the lead but Nicholls quickly overhauled his rival and the Robins restricted the damage to a 5-3 loss. Gathercole continued his fine evening with three points in heat 12 but the Eagles gave themselves hope with a maximum next – bringing them to within six points – as Kylmakorpi and Pedersen led in the field. But that was as good as it got for Eastbourne as Janowski trapped brilliantly to win heat 14 and received the necessary support from Gathercole in third. A thrilling final race saw Nicholls and Monberg emerge with a 4-2 having initially been on the end of a maximum, securing the home side all three points. Robins co-owner Terry Russell said afterwards: “On the back of what we did against Poole I was delighted to see us race like that and get the three points. “The commitment and team spirit was fantastic and it’s onwards and upwards from here.” SWINDON ROBINS 51: Scott Nicholls (3-2-2-3-1-3)14, Jesper B. Monberg (2*-3-1*-3-1*-1)11+3, Nicolai Klindt (3-1-2-1-1)8, Maciej Janowski (0-3-3-0-3)9, Simon Stead r/r, Justin Sedgmen (0-0-0)0, Cory Gathercole (3-0-2*-3-1)9+1 EASTBOURNE EAGLES 41: Bjarne Pedersen (1-2-4^-2*-2)11+1, Lukas Dryml (0-0-R)0, Simon Gustafsson (1*-1-3-2)7+1, Lewis Bridger (2-3-0-2)7, Joonas Kylmakorpi (2-3-2-3-0)10, Dakota North, guest (1*-0-0)1+1, Cameron Woodward (2-1*-1-1*-0-0)5+2 HEAT DETAILS Heat 1: Nicholls, Monberg, Pedersen, Dryml, 66.80 (5-1) Nicholls gates off the outside and Monberg is close behind. Dryml completely loses momentum as he exits bend two as Monberg sweeps across him. A very easy 5-1 for the hosts. Heat 2: Gathercole, Woodward, North, Sedgmen, 67.59 (8-4) North is first to show but the in-form Gathercole sweeps round the top into first on bend two. Sedgmen struggles at the back. Heat 3: Klindt, Bridger, Gustafsson, Janowski, 67.33 (11-7) Klindt just about gets his nose in front into bend one after starting from the outside gate. Janowski is never that close to Gustafsson. Heat 4: Monberg, Kylmakorpi, Woodward, Gathercole, 66.83 (14-10) Cracking ride from Monberg. Eastbourne's Kylmakorpi and Woodward are on a 5-1 at the start but the Dane gets Woodward on bend three and then powers past Kylmakorpi on bend two lap two, and wins at a canter in the end. Heat 5: Janowski, Pedersen, Klindt, Dryml, 67.05 (18-12) Janowski and Pedersen are very tight into bend one. Pedersen bothers the Pole throughout until the final lap but the home rider holds on. Heat 6: Kylmakorpi, Nicholls, Monberg, North, 66.93 (21-15) Terrific gate from Kylmakorpi and that's that. Heat 7: Bridger, Klindt, Gustafsson, Sedgmen, 67.93 (23-19) Sedgmen makes the gate but Bridger is lurking and hits the front on bend two. Klindt then moves into second and Gustafsson passes Sedgmen on bend three. Heat 8: Monberg, Gathercole, Woodward, Dryml (R), 67.42 (28-20) Monberg gates and wins by a mile. Gathercole and Woodward have a right royal battle for the first lap before the former comes out on top. Dryml pulls up on the back straight of lap two. Heat 9 (re-run): Janowski, Kylmakorpi, Klindt, North, 67.49 (32-22) Janowski powers into first off the inside and then Klindt goes from fourth to second wide out on bend two. Kylmakorpi forces his way past Klindt at the end of lap three. Heat 10: Gustafsson, Nicholls, Monberg, Bridger, 67.27 (35-25) Super effort from Gustafsson to keep Nicholls out. A close finish. The Swede had earlier zipped from third to first on bend two lap one. Heat 11: Nicholls, Pedersen (tac), Woodward, Sedgmen, 67.52 (38-30) Worries for Swindon as tactical man Pedersen flies out off the inside, but Nicholls takes the lead coming out of bend two, and that's how it stays. Heat 12: Gathercole, Gustafsson, Klindt, Woodward, 68.30 (42-32) I don't know what Cory Gathercole had for breakfast this morning, but it certainly worked. He's looked a top reserve tonight, bravely forcing his way past Gustafsson on bend two. Klindt overhauls Woodward on the back straight of lap two. Heat 13: Kylmakorpi, Pedersen, Nicholls, Janowski, 68.30 (43-37) An incredibly close first two corners and it's the Eagles that emerge in front. Kylmakorpi shoots into first on the back straight of the final lap. Heat 14: Janowski, Bridger, Gathercole, Woodward, 68.68 (47-39) The gate of the night from Janowski and Gathercole battles away for a well-deserved third. Heat 15: Nicholls, Pedersen, Monberg, Kylmakorpi, 68.52 (51-41) Terrific contest to finish it off. The Eagles are on a 5-1 from the start but Nicholls speeds from third to first on the back straight. Monberg progresses into third past Kylmakorpi on bend four and that's three points wrapped up for the Robins. swindonadver

ROBINS 50 WOLVERHAMPTON 45
SWINDON continued their recent improved Elite League form with a deserved 50-45 victory over Wolverhampton at the Abbey Stadium.
It was the Robins third home win over fancied opposition in recent weeks and they are now beginning to put their early season disappointments firmly behind them.
Ronnie Russell’s men were good value for their success, but they did allow Wolves to come back in the latter stages to steal a consolation league point by keeping the victory margin to just five-points.
Swindon started well and led 23-13 after six races had been completed and they even managed to withstand a Freddie Lindgren tactical ride in heat 8. Jesper B Monberg on his way to an impressive 11+3 score beat the Swede to the chequered flag and the race was shared at four-apiece, with Cory Gathercole following them home in third.
Scott Nicholls and Monberg raced to a 5-1 in heat 10, but Peter Karlsson (tactical ride) and Lindgren’s 8-1 in heat 11 kept the Wolves in the hunt.
Successive 4-2s then put Swindon 47-36 ahead and seemingly well-placed to take all three league points, but Wolves strong finish earned them some consolation from an entertaining evening’s action.
SWINDON 50: Scott Nicholls 12+1, Jesper B Monberg 11+3, Nikolai Klindt 10, Maciej Janowski 7+2, Cory Gathercole 7, Josh Grajczonek 3+1, Simon Stead R/R
WOLVERHAMPTON 45: Freddie Lindgren 17+1, Peter Karlsson 14, Ricky Wells 6+1, Ty Proctor 6, Ludvig Lindgren 2+1, Todd Kurtz 0

@nedpayne1 Ned Payne
#speedway Another very good effort from the Robins in 50-45 vs Wolves. Should be changed to three points if any justice.

Meet ref shall have supreme control of the meeting. Except when another one tells him what to do agnst his better judgement! #SwindonRobins

#speedway Wolves used tac on r/r twice which surely cannot be within rules, or certainly shouldn't be.

@nedpayne1 Ned Payne#speedway RESULT Swindon 50-40 Coventry ROBINS 50 COVENTRY 40SWINDON gained a morale-boosting three points at the Abbey Stadium on Thursday - as they finally saw off Coventry’s resistance in the last race. The Bees arrived missing No.1 Emil Sayfutdinov but provided stubborn opposition thanks mainly to a string of race wins from Edward Kennett and Przemyslaw Pawlicki. Robins, meanwhile were beset by a host of problems after they had made a good start by going 13-5 up with 5-1s in both Heats 2 and 3. Simon Stead was unable to avoid the fallen Ryan Fisher in the latter of those, but was able to resume after treatment – but Swindon’s hopes of extending their lead significantly were hampered by mechanical trouble for Scott Nicholls in Heat 6, Cory Gathercole two races later and then Nicolai Klindt in Heat 11. With the Bees taking a 5-1 in that race through Pawlicki and ex-Robin Travis McGowan, the pressure was on, but the home side responded in fine style with maximum points from Gathercole and Maciej Janowski in the next race. That six-point cushion became more important when Nicholls touched the tapes in Heat 13, although a 4-2 in the next took Swindon into the last race with an eight-point lead, and needing to avoid conceding an advantage to make sure of maximum points. The tension was eased, though, when Pawlicki suffered bike problems at the start-line, and Nicholls rounded things off in style by passing the previously unbeaten Kennett for a fine win. SWINDON 50: Scott Nicholls 9+1, Simon Stead 9+1, Nicolai Klindt 8, Maciej Janowski 7+3, Jesper B Monberg 6+1, Cory Gathercole 6, Justin Sedgmen 5+1. COVENTRY 40: Edward Kennett 14, Przemek Pawlicki 12, Kenni Larsen 7, Travis McGowan 5+1, Nelson 1, Ryan Fisher 1, Todd Kurtz 0. robinsweb

@einarnk Nicolai Klindtgood luck to the boys! #winning not quite! ROBINS 28 POOLE 62SWINDON have been left with a mountain to climb to continue in this season’s Knockout Cup after a thumping 62-28 defeat against Poole at the Abbey Stadium. The Robins will now have to produce the performance of the season in next week’s second leg at Wimborne Road if they are to face either Wolverhampton or Eastbourne in the semi-finals. Track conditions were difficult after all the rain that had fallen during the day, but the Elite League leaders were in stunning form leaving Jesper B Monberg as the only home rider to win a race when he took the chequered flag in Heat 14. SWINDON 28: Jesper B Monberg 10, Simon Stead 9, Cory Gathercole 5+1, Scott Nicholls 3, James Wright 1+1, Justin Sedgmen 0, Nicolai Klindt R/R POOLE 62: Chris Holder 15, Darcy Ward 13+2, Davey Watt 8+1, Jason Doyle 8, Dennis Andersson 7+1, Claus Vissing 6, Renat Gafurov 5+1 swindon web
That leaves a nice pointless trip to Wimborne Road to look forward to:

Another away win on the evening. We've still got to visit Swale's traditional graveyard twice, should be a useful yardstick as the Poles can't use track size as an excuse!
The Hammers pulled off a four point Elite League victory at the home of the Swindon Robins on Thursday evening.

SWINDON slipped to their second successive home defeat with a 47-43 reverse against Lakeside on Thursday night.
The Robins were hammered by Poole last time out at the Abbey Stadium, but this was a huge improvement on that result with Nicolai Klindt once again showing some good individual form, top-scoring with 11+1.
Cory Gathercole contributed with 9+1 and Scott Nicholls with 9, but Maciej Janowski had a rare off-night and could only manage 4+1.
The Essex side led from the start with former Robin Lee Richardson featuring in an opening race 5-1 and he had another four victories to finish the night with 15 from six starts.
A Gathercole and Janowski maximum in Heat 13 kept Swindon in the hunt trailing by just four-points with two races remaining, but the Hammers held on and Ronnie Russell’s men remain at the foot of the Elite League table.
