Polish star Grzegorz Zengota bagged a 15-point maximum to pip fellow countryman Krzysztof Kasprzak to victory in the SGP qualification quarter final at Miskolc.
The in-form Czestochowa man cruised through the card unbeaten, while former SGP regular Kasprzak had to make do with second spot on 13.

Slovakian sensation Martin Vaculik underlined his Grand Prix credentials by storming to a 15-point maximum to win the SGP qualification quarter final at Tarnow. Despite being drawn into the hardest meeting, Vaculik warmed up for his World Championship debut in Gorzow next Saturday by leaving a host of past and present SGP stars trailing on his Ekstraliga home track. Polish international Piotr Protasiewicz, third in last season’s GP Challenge, was second on 13. Current Grand Prix regular Antonio Lindback was third after winning a run-off with Grzegorz Walasek. They tied on 11 points. But Walasek won’t be upset with fourth spot after he only took his place in the meeting when Croatia’s Dino Kovacic pulled out. All four riders stormed into the semis along with Janusz Kolodziej and Niels-Kristian Iversen, who both bagged 10. SGP regular Hans Andersen made it on nine, along with the Ukraine’s Andrey Karpov. Australian international Troy Batchelor just made it on seven points after a monumental win in his final heat race. Britain’s Oliver Allen beat Latvian rider Maks Bogdanovs and Viktor Golubovski in a run-off for the reserve spot. Lewis Bridger and Jonas Davidsson were casualties on three points. SCORES: 1. Martin Vaculik 15, 2. Piotr Protasiewicz 13, 3. Antonio Lindback 11+3, 4. Grzegorz Walasek 11+2, 5. Janusz Kolodziej 10, 6. Niels Kristian Iversen 10, 7. Andrey Karpov 9, 8. Hans Andersen 9, 9. Grand Prix star Chris Harris overcame some horrendous weather conditions to win his SGP qualification quarter final at Berwick with a 15-point full house.
Bomber went into the meeting as firm favourite to triumph, but all 16 riders faced a testing night as the track on the Anglo-Scottish border was lashed by rain for much of the day.
Covers were used on the bends, but with rain falling during the meeting, conditions became very tough. A track inspection was called after 12 races, but referee Marek Wojaczek allowed the action to continue.
The wet stuff didn’t stop the Cornishman, who finished fourth in the FIM Dansk Metal Danish SGP last Saturday, from keeping his dream of a place in the 2013 World Championship alive.
Australian racer Sam Masters is also in the semis after winning a run-off for second with Daniel King after they tied on 12.
The Brit will be delighted with third spot, particularly after only being handed a call-up when the injured Tai Woffinden withdrew.
American international Ryan Fisher cruised through on 11, while Australia’s Davey Watt made it on 10.
Linus Sundstrom, Krzysztof Buczkowski and Tero Aarnio all qualified on nine and Kenneth Hansen nicked the last place on seven.
These riders will now be drawn into the three semi-final meetings at Vojens, Divisov and Lonigo, which take place on June 30.
The top five from each of these will be guaranteed spots in the GP Challenge at Croatian SGP venue Gorican on September 29, where the first three become Grand Prix regulars for 2013.
SCORES: 1. Chris Harris 15, 2. Sam Masters 12+3, 3. Daniel King 12+2, 4. Ryan Fisher 11, 5. Davey Watt 10, 6. Linus Sundstrom 9, 7. Krzysztof Buczkowski 9, 8. Tero Aarnio 9, 9. Kenneth Hansen 7, 10. With some rain forecast, the Berwick staff placed covers on the bends to deflect rain onto the infield. John Anderson would like to put on record the club's thanks to all the volunteers who made this major operation possible.

Held a press conference regarding racing Speedway GP Challenge, which takes place on Saturday 29.9. The leadership of the club, especially Jurica Pavlic are well prepared for one of the most important races in the speedway world. Zvonimir Pavlic, president of the UNIA SK: "FIM we once had the honor to organize such a big event, considering that even in our stadium held a Grand Prix. We have proven that we can stand with great organizers such as Cardiff, Copenhagen, Prague, Gothenburg. All this came out of the effort of these young people, the media, the public, and especially our Jurica before which is a big deal on Saturday. " Jurica Pavlic has a chance to win one of the three places that lead to a series of Grand Prix 2013th year. "This is ten times heavier than the Grand Prix races in which I won fourth place this year. Now I'll be even harder to come to this podium because we narrowly missed before the last race. Engines are ready, the team is ready, and so am I, because it is my greatest wish - to get to the Grand Prix! So I invite everyone to the race on Saturday because no guaranteed ride will not go down without a fight! Wonder if Hancock or Gollob will retire from the SGP at least? That'd mean that anyone below AJ who has a good Torun could sneak in if they go down to 10th

It's usually pretty clear cut but I think it's tricky this year. Vaculik probably but MJJ from EL reserve (who can't gate consistently for toffee) to the GP in one season - not for me. He won on a track that he's very familiar with (track record holder) after somehow scraping into the semi on 7 - certainly think that there are better choices but they do seem clearing out the dead wood, although there'll be enough of that qualifying from the challenge. In fact if he doesn't qualify direct then he's not good enough for the SGP anyway is he

Interesting that the GP challenge yet again produced 3 qualifiers that had all been in the GP before, although I will say NKI is likely to be a player next year rather than than making up the numbers. Thankfully Dryml didnt make it but it would have been interesting to see Batchelor make it as he at least can trap, should think its likely both could get a outing in 2013 as reserve riders.
