As it's a foregone conclusion you'd have thought that they'd make it a round £10? Even reducing admission for the semi for the alleged biggest team in the sport with a prime city centre location - sign of the times POOLE promoter Matt Ford is encouraging supporters to take advantage of a reduced pricing structure for the second leg of their Elite League play-off semi-final against Lakeside.Next Monday’s meeting is now not being televised live, but admission is down to £13 for adults, £10 for OAPs and £1 for accompanied children. Ford said: “The only way to actually see our destiny unfold is to be at the stadium on the night and be part of the excitement. This is a golden era for the club, but we are not in the final yet and we want as many fans to cheer us into the final if possible. “My message to everyone is: Come and jump on the bandwagon and enjoy the biggest meetings of the season over the next month at the Poole Speedway – starting next Monday.” bspa

Also writes in the bobbins programme I believe but it must be crap as he'd normally be promoting it Bet whoever decided that Andersen and Batchelor weren't good enough is feeling a bit of a lemon right now, although that's nothing compared to what they'll feel if Poole blow it

No top end strength is their main problem. Pedersen plods along disappointingly as per usual and when you go into your biggest meeting of the season with Danny King at 1 against Hans Andersen then boy have you got a problem; although not as big a problem as British Speedway if those two semi finals are the best that we can come up with. I'm just glad that King didn't do well or Pearson would have been asking Tatum whether the Brummie man was worth a GP wildcard slot now that Smolinski had unluckily missed out in the GP Challenge.

Nail on head riggers, and unfortunately they were not the only team who went into the season a bit light in the heat leader department. Pretty much every title winning side in the last decade has had 2 big hitters as Poole and Swindon have again highlighted this year. I sincerely hope we learned the lesson but only time will tell.

It's the balance though isn't it. We went for the reserves win matches theme (which is fine although it was only very short term) but Swales forget (or forgot to mention to whoever did the picking) that he'd often said that we don't win enough races. The 7 we chose were never going to win enough races and although we tried to put it right eventually it was too late and were were stuffed from the off anyway

Generally 2 reliable big hitters and a handy reserve on a 'false' average. In Pooles case they have 3.5 big hitters. More than enough to win a weak EL. Mr Darcy needs to be a tad careful with the show boating in my opinion.

Arghhhhhh🏃🔫 Was only flicking between channels but did catch that one prefer Millard to the excitable Pearson and Tatum tbh. Surely not... Millard doesn't know what time of day it is, or what day it is. About as entertaining as JS commentary. "The start Marshall moves away". Not sure if you know but Leigh Adams is from Mildura and Jason Crump was born in Bristol I do like the enthusiasm and passion from the Smashy & Nicey double act.

v MONDAY'S Grand Final 1st leg between Swindon and Poole at the Abbey Stadium has been postponed because of a waterlogged track and spectator area. The meeting has been re-arranged for Monday October 15. 7.30pm. The second leg will now take place at Poole on Wednesday October 17.
If the rain doesn't stop then they might have to take the radical move of making the league winners the champions!

It could get even worse, we could go there for the second leg when they are returning home for the first time with the EL trophy. That's potentially gonna hurt all concerned. And the liklihood of that happening has just been increased by a notch with the news that Pawlicki is done for the season and misses both meetings. But then again: SWINDON boss Alun Rossiter insists he is ‘not bothered’ whether Poole’s Piotr Pawlicki plays a part in the Elite League grand final, after rain yesterday handed the stricken Pole a lifeline. Yesterday evening’s first leg was postponed due to a waterlogged track with the clash now delayed until Monday, leading to speculation that the lower-order ace, previously claimed by his club to be out for the season, could still have a part to play in the final. But whether the Leszno-born star is at the start line in either leg is of no consequence to Rossiter, who said: “He won’t ride according to them, but if he does, he does, it doesn’t bother me. “If you start worrying about other people, you start showing your weakness and we don’t have any weaknesses. “I’m more worried about what’s going on at Swindon than Poole, and I’m focused on beating whatever team they put out.” Swindon Adver

Swindon's secret weapon moves back in the team so that buggers that then SWINDON: Hans Andersen, Nick Morris, Peter Kildemand, Jason Doyle Simon Stead, Troy Batchelor, Dawid Lampart, Simon Stead Seb Alden. POOLE: Darcy Ward, Ricky Kling, Chris Holder, Piotr Pawlicki R/R, Krzysztof Kasprzak, Sam Masters, Kyle Howarth. R/R in the Grand Final - can't even get two full sides out in the sport's showcase So over 30 heats it's basically Andersen, Kildemand & Batchelor v Ward, Holder & Kasprzak ;D

Agree rr in a grand final kind of sums this sport up these days. They don't have too many 14 rider meeting anymore. Your logic works both ways - If the heat leaders equal themselves out then surely it's between the 2nd strings and reserves?
