Well this must be the dullest close season for a decade. pretty boring isn't , if there relying on bjerre to turn up every sunday they'll be disappointed and I still think its plain crazy not having a no1 in place before you sign 6 other riders , had a quick gander at last weeks e.t, some of the 10 riders mentioned are comical

Yes, hard to get enthusiastic at the moment, especially with the promise of mostly Sunday meetings (although last year they said it would be mostly Fridays, and what happened to that?) I think the team declared so far is ok, but the final signing is crucial, and not helped by the foreign commitments of available riders. What chance a return to Friday nights?

I'm pretty sure that Rathbone had a number 1 in place before he signed those 6. If they hang it out until February then the announcement can be the start of the build up to the new season and the PR can be full on from there. It's a strange strategy but that's my guess? Rathbone could have been taking advice from Tetley of course which means that we're in the crap!

Most interesting thing so far is unexplained demise of Carl Oakes.

Most interesting thing so far is unexplained demise of Carl Oakes. That says it all really. I never thought that I'd miss the daily Hans Andersen or Trevor Swales said story in the ET but at least it kept the interest going. The ET speedway page currently has two non stories which says much about our sport and fall of Peterborough Speedway.

If what we see on BSF is true another Pantheresque moment is unfolding. Regarding Carl Oakes I do now know the facts but feel desperately sorry for him.

If it comes from dazpanther I'd just look elsewhere for evidence before taking too much notice. As for Carl Oakes, who is relatively a nobody at the end of the day, what's to feel sorry about?

Is this the chap that shaved his hair for the fund raising cause? Also arranged the supporters nights?

Is this the chap that shaved his hair for the fund raising cause? Also arranged the supporters nights? That's the one. Was often pictured working at the EoES and recently got wed in full view, so dropping off a cliff without explanation does seem somewhat strange, but Panthers have had a few of those in recent years.

I suspect Supporters Club was a large part of Carl Oakes life, That is why I feel sorry for him. I do not know the facts but suspect his resignation was not entirely voluntary. Certainly quiz night for which he is no longer required will not be the same. I will not be renewing my membership to the supporters club this year or for the foreseeable future. Et Tu Brute!!!

Unless anyone is going to stick their head over the parapet (which isn't going to happen it would seem, which is probably a message in itself) then there is nowhere to go with this.

I agree that MPT has a big part to play but machinery has always been his Achilles heel, if that's improved this year he could make the difference.

Would have gone for PK myself. States in today's SS he is available for PL. Think Porsing will improve his average but won't guarantee the points PK would. Guess it also comes down to budget.

KING’S Lynn have now confirmed the signing of Carl Wilkinson as an Elite Draft Rider for the coming season.
Wilkinson comes into the Stars’ line-up to replace Simon Lambert, who has relinquished his place in the side due to a series of fixture clashes with his Premier League club Peterborough, having several sponsorship deals in that area.
King’s Lynn manager Rob Lyon said: “After the complications with Simon, we looked at the draft list and there weren't any realistic options available to us. We asked for Carl to be included on the list and thankfully the other seven clubs were co-operative in that process.
“As we saw last season, Carl is a maximum effort racer and I am sure he will play his part in bringing the entertainment factor back to the Adrian Flux Arena. He was keen to join the club and we are pleased that he will be a Star in 2016.”
