Have found it rather amusing but entertaining this winter watching the Stars promotion struggling to assemble their side for the 2016 season and then reading their fans comments on the BSF. I still believe they were partly responsible for our club dropping out of the EL after stabbing us in the back during the "winter of discontent" and then going on to use our assets for several years. Well no NKI this season - the fans do not want Bjerre so hopefully he will be signed just to complete my amusement.

Losing the SWC (another thing they nicked after one of the best ever EoES speedway meetings) to Manchester is another bonus. Troublesome leeches is what 6 fingers are.

Seems to be growing rumours that Porsing will be final signing (he'll be a steal on his average). IF he is the last rider then Panthers coming in 2 pts under the team building limit would be plain bonkers and prove what a total cock up they've made. I'll find other things to do with my time. Well that was then (January) and this is now (August):PROMOTER Ged Rathbone has promised Peterborough fans: "I won't let you down."Panthers have attracted widespread criticism in the wake of a 52-39 home defeat at the hands of Edinburgh on Sunday. It was a result which put their place in the Premier League play-offs under threat with seven meetings remaining in the regular season. But Rathbone insists the club's management and riders will do all they can to secure a top-six finish and a tilt at the title. He said: "No-one hates losing more than me so I can perfectly understand the disappointment that every single supporter has been feeling since Sunday. "Our home record was something we identified as needing to improve this season, but it hasn't happened. In fact it has been worse than 2015 when it was also way below the standard we expect. " I had a quick look on social media yesterday so I'm well aware of the calls for us to make changes, but it is not quite as simple as picking out a rider and giving him a call. "We've scoured far and wide from people who are both available and capable of improving the team - and let me assure everyone there are very few of them out there. "But I can also promise every Peterborough fan that we are working morning, noon and night to try to get our current riders firing. "I ask the fans to keep positive and stay behind us. I didn't let them down when making sure the club continued to race, I didn't let them down when building a side which reached the play-off semi-finals last season, and I won't let them down now. "Hopefully they can trust myself, my management team and the many good people at the club to find the right solution for our current problems. "We have seven meetings remaining in the regular season - four at home and three away. "We've got to aim to pick up all 12 available points at Alwalton and look to collect a few on the road. We got four from the meetings at Sheffield and Workington recently and we'll try to do something similar at Edinburgh on Friday and Berwick on Saturday." Panthers sit fourth in the Premier League and have a seven-point cushion over the Workington side who currently sit immediately below the play-off zone. The Comets do boast meetings in hand though, as do a dangerous Newcastle side who are lurking a further point back in ninth spot. Panthers face the Diamonds home and away during August and also welcome the Comets to the East of England Showground early in September. peterboroughpanthers.co/news 9/8/16

From personal experience I know how much nonsense and tripe appears on these sites. They are full of garbage and you can waste your life sitting reading it." (Hans Andersen 2007) rolling Added to that the PL lot are dull as dishwater - Jeez, if you take any notice of that lot you will be in a bigger mess, depending of where you want the club to be of course.

But the team seem to be doing ok on away tracks, despite the 4 reserves, which begs the question why do they do so badly as home? We've been told that the track is being prepared the way the team want it, but if that's the case why can't they perform on it?
I've been here before, I know but to me the slick track wipes away the home advantage, and this year it's been slicker than I remember for many years (Sunday afternoons don't help). Okay, the Danes may like it that way, but if the visitors like it that way too, then home losses are going to keep happening.
We keep hearing about the Kings Lynn track being fast and grippy, but it's not long ago (during the Frost years) that Buster Chapman was slagging off our track for being dangerously fast and grippy (or words to that effect). So please, Ged, if you're looking at on line forums, let's have some dirt and moisture on the track; make away teams scared of coming to Peterborough again!

full unedited text at peterboroughtoday.co.uk/sport/speedway/panthers/unhappy-panthers-chief-could-make-some-big-changes (25/8/16) Ged Rathbone has dropped a hint that he could be prepared to rip up his mis-firing Panthers team ahead of the sport’s signing deadline. Changes have been called for by some supporters following the 59-34 drubbing at Newcastle last Sunday which left the city outfit looking over their shoulders in the race to secure a Premier League play-off spot. A run of four successive home meetings in the next 10 days is likely to make or break the 2016 campaign. There will certainly be no changes in personnel ahead of the first of those fixtures - a return clash against play-off rivals Newcastle at the East of England Showground. That is followed by a Bank Holiday Monday visit from struggling Redcar ahead of a September 4 double-header against Rye House and Workington. Panthers other remaining fixture in the regular season - a recently postponed away trip to Edinburgh - is still to be rescheduled. Rathbone said that he understands where those fans are coming from and is well aware that certain riders have not been producing what is expected of them. He added: “I’m certainly not ruling out making changes, but I definitely will not be rushing into them. “We could make anything from one to four changes to the team before the deadline if we decide that is the way forward". One potential target that Panthers have been forced to rule out of their plans due to current rules is Nicolai Klindt. His top-flight side, Leicester, already have the maximum two permitted doubling-up riders in addition to their Elite Draft Riders. Leicester already have Ludvig Lindgren and Aaron Summers doubling-up in the Premier League, and the rules don’t permit a third rider to do it.

PETERBOROUGH have brought Anders Thomsen back for a second spell with the club as part of a double team switch.
Thomsen has re-joined Panthers for the remainder of the 2016 campaign after impressing during a similar spell in Peterborough colours in the final weeks of 2015. He wiil be joined by Mildenhall National League rider Danny Halsey, with both captures having already received full approval from the British Speedway Promoters’ Association (BSPA) management committee.
The two men to make way from the Peterborough team in the wake of a sixth home defeat of the season last night are Emil Grondal and Tom Perry.
Their exits were announced during the interval of a loss against Newcastle (26/8/16) with the blessing of both riders, who received fine send-offs from Peterborough supporters when waving farewell in front of the main grandstand at the East of England Showground.
Rathbone said: “It is no secret we have been considering making changes to the team for a while, but we were always adamant that we had to make the right moves at the right time.
“We feel we are doing that by bringing Anders back to the club and giving Dan the chance to race in the Premier League.
“We simply could not allow the dreadful run of results at home to go on any longer and we’ve had to act with our place in the play-offs now under serious threat.
“Anders is a proven rider at much higher levels. Hopefully his return will give us a boost and I’ll be delighted if Danny can chip in with a few points at reserve.
“Both guys jumped at the chance to join the club and they are well aware of the fact we need them to hit the ground running at such a crucial stage of the season.
“Of course it is never nice to have to release riders, but Emil and Tom were both understanding of the situation were find ourselves in.
“Emil has actually increased his average during the season after spending thousands of pounds on equipment while trying to find the right mechanical set-up.
“As we all know, Tom is a huge victim of his own success and it is with a very heavy heart that we have had to let him go.
“He was a real star in the early weeks of the season, but he has struggled in the main body of the side and it has clearly knocked his confidence.
“These might not be the last changes to the team either. We’re still looking for more ways to strengthen before the signing deadline next week.”
Thomsen and Halsey will both be in action when Peterborough meet Redcar the East of England Showground on Bank Holiday Monday 29/8/16 (7pm).
Thomsen slots into the side on an average of 6.62 while Halsey will race off a 3.00 figure as the club’s new mandatory British rider.
Halsey’s arrival means Ashley Morris will climb into a second string berth after racing at reserve since his June arrival.

Heavyweight looking top 4, should ensure some interest at the end of the season, certainly looks better team than previous few weeks.

Panthers new line-up: Craig Cook (av 9.96), Kenneth Bjerre (8.22),Ulrich Ostergaard (8.08), Anders Thomsen (6.62), Richard Hall (3.29), Zdenek Holub (3.00), Danny Halsey (3.00).

Hall, Halsey, Kenneth Bjerre - none of those would be anywhere on my list. I do like Thomsen but not sure that I'd put any money on him to win a race. Pressure on the top four to win races because reserves win matches and we haven't got any.

Have to agree Bjerre, Halsey & Hall would not be on my shopping list. Surprised Bjerre has lowered himself to ride in the Premier league (just shows how he has declined). Hope he doesn't start sulking again. I joked about the return of Henning Bager but never even considered Richard Hall You have to admire Ged's commitment but these changes make me concerned about our bottom end. Somebody misfiring in the top four and we will be stuffed.

Three reserves are better than four I guess, and the strengthening at the top end has to help. The big question though is, will Morrisey fan become KKS again?

In case you haven't noticed we have been getting stuffed regularly because our top 4 are misfiring, credit to Ged for doing something about it. I am surprised at comments regarding Thomsen as I think he is an absolute steal on 6.62. It's a gamble but one I think is worth taking, let's be honest we were struggling big time.

Can't see the two discarded riders exactly busting a gut on Monday, That's of course assuming both turn up. My first thought also - Morris I expect to but NBJ - has he been in the Uk all weekend? If so then probably likely to but if not then why would he travel from abroad just for 4 final heats for us?

Does not exactly fill one with confidence!!! With the stuttering form of Ulrich arguably we only have a top three.
