PETERBOROUGH bosses will hold a fans' forum in the city next week . . . and promoter Ged Rathbone insists no questions are off limits.
The 'T Balfe Construction' Panthers management of Rathbone, co-promoter Trevor Swales and team manager Carl Johnson will all be present at the event next Tuesday (October 11).
Rathbone said: "We pride ourselves on being as open and honest with our supporters as possible.
"We haven't done a fans' forum since last winter and this is the perfect time to put that right.
"We're all still disappointed about how the 2016 season turned out and I'm expecting plenty of questions about what went wrong.
"But there is already a lot of optimism looking ahead of next year and I'm sure there will be plenty of opinions about 2017 too."
The forum is being staged at the Post Office Club in Bourges Boulevard and gets underway at 8pm. Admission is free, but donations to the Peterborough Panthers Speedway Supporters Club are welcomed.
A good opportunity to ask the questions you want answered, knowing Ged you will get the truth.
For those that dont know the venue it's opposite the play area and recreation field at the triangle New England, and is the venue used by the PPSSC for its functions.

And for those like me who'll not be there, you can always post any questions here. You'll not get any comeback unless your topic is brought up on the night and appears in subsequent reports but you never know who might be reading.
In fact, if I've given the right permissions then anyone can reply as a guest - see how that goes!

Suggestions on BSF of return to Elite League. Any substance to these rumours and where do they come from? Sounds like a good question for Ged at the fans forum next week If there was any substance to it then that would be the first announcement made and it would be questions from there. In fact it's not really the thing that you wait for a fans forum to announce. You'd need new supporters, or encourage some of the lost to return, so the publicity would need to start as soon as the decision was made. As an EL preference person myself I still think it's a dogs dinner and Panthers are best to bide there time and stay where they are. The concern would be that now the EL is pants the PL will follow as the drive for a cheap all British wobbler product continues. The first question should be "who owns the club now" and "what was the deal in principle with Readypower and has that taken place"

And the second question: Why was the Peterborough Panthers Reunion so badly publicised (or was it just me that didn't know about it) especially as the Ben Fund was the recipient of funds raised I am led to believe? Did anyone on here actually go to this?

What reunion? Says it all perhaps It's on the PPSSC Facebook Page complete with photos Did you know/go to this event Rodders? I knew about it only because it was mentioned at the Quiz last Friday seemingly another example of non facebook person not considered. I did not go as it seemed more relevant to Panthers fans of yesteryear.

That doesn't even mention a Facebook page that I can see?

Doesn't seem to mention the reunion on the list of events either.... That's probably because the re union wasn't a PPSSC event. This was organised by Kev Austin although some assistance and the catering was done by the PPSSC committee members, profit from this event went to the Ben Fund.

So non Facebook users wouldn't have known about it. This is par for the course The Fans Forum was advertised on the clubs website and on this website in addition to Facebook as soon as it was sorted. The Reunion WASNT organised by the club or the PPSSC (although supported by both). Again perhaps a few on here that regularly complain about the lack of notice of events should put this to the management at the fans forum.

When is the AGM anyway? It can't be far now from the pre meeting, so this forum could be useful for allowed feedback from that meeting or gaining ideas for future input into it? Of course the AGM can always throw in an uplanned item to disadvantage someone, but that's more of an EL issue, allegedly.

Panthers chief Ged Rathbone has vowed to given an honest answer to any question thrown at him during a fans’ forum. The promoter, who recently announced he will remain at the helm for 2017 after considering his future in the sport, will face supporters at the Post Office Club on Tuesday (October 11). And he is hopeful of a big turnout for the 8pm event at the Bourges Boulevard venue, which has free admission. Rathbone said: “I pride myself on being as open and honest as I possibly can with the supporters. “The club has not laid on a fans’ forum since last winter and this is the perfect time to put that right. “There is certainly a lot to talk about with the 2016 season not panning out as we had hoped. I’m expecting plenty of questions about what went wrong, and what our plans are for next year.”

Of course the AGM can always throw in an uplanned item to disadvantage someone, but that's more of an EL issue, allegedly. I have been told it's early November. There's a question then: why so late? I thought that we we going the other way so that clubs could get sorted earlier like other countries? I suppose that now we don't have any, and the EL have so few, it doesn't matter that quality riders get sorted out elsewhere. Having said that, it'd be preferable for clubs to know what they are up against when they shut up shop for the season.

Did anyone on here actually go to this? Just clocked a copy of the local comic this evening and it was at the end of the forum article in that, so it was somewhere but still badly publicised as you say.

I don't think any perceived complaints are necessarily directed towards the clubNo they're not Rodders if not their event. Just seems a shame regardless of who organised it if the charity to benefit was the Ben Fund and it really was open to all fans that better advertising/announcements of its existence were not considered necessary.
