Royal Hunt Cup (Heritage Handicap) (Str) Royal Ascot 5pm 3yo+ 1M Winner: £94,500 (29 runners)1st Dark Shift 13/2 4yo 9 1 - Trainer C Hills - Jockey James McDonald - owner Mr H. Frost (Rick Frost) Frost received 175k for winning the race it appears but someone said he looked a bit old on TV. He’s clearly doing better with the nags than he did with the Speedway. I’m guessing he’s got a very good (and honourable) person advising him. It makes a big difference. Good luck to him.

I’m sure you know more than me but Frost invested in a sport (Speedway) that he was very ill advised with. Appeared the saviour but as you say, your front / back room make the difference. Couldn’t have picked a worse time. Losing your input was a massive mistake for Rick, in my opinion.

Back on subject. The Nags seem to be doing much better than Speedway. 1 day surpasses 2 year losses. Well done b0252

Frost (Rick Frost) Frost received 175k for winning the race it appears but someone said he looked a bit old on TV. Must have been on ITV which I don't watch. I think Matt Chapman is on that channel and he grinds my gears I haven't watched any RA but late last night I did skim through some of what I'd recorded. They didn't go in to the winners paddock at all on Sky so we didn't get the opportunity to see the 78yo Rick. Alex Hammond did say that Nick (we call him Rick, the data has H and she calls him Nick, no wonder we're all confused) Frost has a lot of good horses with Charlie Hills. So follow our ex owner unless you see a horse called Kenneth Bjerre who'll be no good in the tough races, or Krzysztof Buczkowski/Norbert Kosciuch who fly at home but are generally crap when they have to travel.

Frost (Rick Frost) Well Rick's going for an unlikely big meeting double tomorrow: Buckingham Palace Stakes (Handicap) (Class 2) (Turf) 16 Jun 2022 6.10pm: Timeform/RTV verdict - MONTASSIB missed the whole of 2021 having won on debut at 2 yrs but he's quickly making up for lost time, supplementing his Wetherby reappearance victory with an impressive display on handicap debut at Goodwood 4 weeks ago. He promises to do better still and can put up a bold bid. Victoria Cup scorer Vafortino and low-mileage Tanmawwy are others to consider, as are Silent Film and George Boughey's Inver Park. Well didn't get that double but has got some entries (including Dark Shift again) coming up.

Well it's a good while since you'd put any money on Hans Andersen to win a race but I see he's running at the Curragh this afternoon (1.30). A very short priced favourite by Frankel so not a great betting proposition but worthy of note all the same. If progresses will be one for big races at a decent price in 2023: - entries this year. Horse: Hans Andersen Trainer: A P O'Brien - Jockey: R L Moore Pedigree: Sire: Frankel, Dam: Shadow Hunter (Ire), Dam's Sire: Arcano (Ire) Owner: Westerberg/Mrs J Magnier/M Tabor/D Smith (wonder who's the speedway fan?) Age: 2 (31 Jan 2020) RTV Comment: Foaled January 31. 450,000 gns yearling, Frankel colt. Dam, 2-y-o 5f winner who stayed 7f, half-sister to useful winner up to 6f Brian The Snail. Promising type. 3/1, second of 6 in minor event at Tipperary (7.4f, soft) on debut 17 days ago, never nearer. The one to beat. oddschecker Verdict: HANS ANDERSEN bumped into a useful rival when finishing second on his debut over an extended 7f at Tipperary last month. The son of Frankel looks sure to improve for that experience and he could be hard to beat if doing so. Young Ireland has a similar profile to the selection and plenty of encouragement can be taken from his third-placed finish on debut. Al Riffa, Cairo and Nation's Call are all newcomers who merit consideration - Prediction: 1st Hans Andersen, 2nd Young Ireland, 3rd Cairo

There is a bigger performance in Air To Air, who impressed in his successful Yarmouth comeback, and can go well. Tactical has another big pot in him, while Fresh, one of several not seen to best effect in the Wokingham, deserves a change of luck. Massive field & a 6lb penalty Have booked in-form Buick but will the be enough?

Massive field & a 6lb penalty Have booked in-form Buick but will the be enough? I'll not be backing this myself (so probably miss another winner) but it's getting well tipped as its form, epecially at Ascot, dictates: 15:00 Ascot (Steve Ryder from oddschecker)With bookmakers offering up to seven places on the Moet & Chandon International handicap this year I am happy to go double handed in the race. The first selection is DARK SHIFT (best priced at 5/1) who won the Royal Hunt Cup for us earlier this season and shouldn’t be inconvenienced by this drop back in trip to 7f. The Charlie Hills trained colt has a fantastic record at Ascot with form figures of 141101 with his only disappointing effort coming when drawn on the wrong side in the Victoria Cup. The handicapper has raised Dark Shift 6lbs for his Royal Ascot success but that is fair and William Buick will have the choice of where he wants to be from Stall 10. The second selection is another previous Royal Ascot winner in the shape of TACTICAL (best priced at 10/1) for The Queen. The Andrew Balding trained four-year-old won the Windsor Castle Stakes as a two-year-old before only finishing 2 ¼ lengths behind the winner Inver Park in the Buckingham Palace Stakes at the Royal Meeting this year. He found a mile too far in the Summer Mile here last time when weakening into 4th behind Chindit and this drop back in trip to 7f should suit him well. Ryan Moore is back on board and he should run well if he isn’t inconvenienced by Stall 2.

Babysitting the boy in the car, while the Mooses was shopping. The Goodwood cup came on TalkSPORT. So thought I’d have a little look about. Don’t normally do short odds (7/4) but thought Kyprios looked a certainty. Made hard work of it but I’m still playing with the bookies money. b0212

If you missed Peterborough on Weds at Worcester (1) Peterborough 15/2 Evan Williams/Isabel Williams) then another opportunity today and an interesting double: (maybe not? P'boro non runner ) Just leaves Curragh 15:10 Galileo Irish EBF Futurity Stakes - oddschecker Verdict: HANS ANDERSEN left a lasting impression when opening his account here on Irish Oaks day last month and can go from strength to strength for his powerful connections. He could make into a Classic horse next year so ought to go very close despite this representing a big step up in class. Stable companion Aesop's Fables won well on his debut at Navan in April but has been off since, which is a slight concern, so perhaps the main danger is the unbeaten fellow C&D winner Proud And Regal. Prediction: 1st Hans Andersen, 2nd Proud And Regal, 3rd Aesops Fables

I saw this tipped up for tomorrow. I see that it's favourite (based on its previous run at the track I guess) but I'm not sure that I can fancy it? It did take me back to a couple of tunes though: Spacer: 9/2, ninth of 12 in handicap at Chelmsford City (7f) 14 days ago. Profile is rather patchy but he will be a danger to all if reproducing the form of his close second over this C&D on penultimate start. Timeform verdictYOSHIMI has been raised just 1 lb for his recent Chelmsford success and, while things rather went his way at that Essex venue and he has his quirks, Michael Herrington's charge looks the most solid option. Next on the list is Surprise Picture, who has edged down to an attractive mark and shaped as though his turn may be near when sixth over this C&D last time. Spacer is also shortlisted, along with Poetic Force. And when that was sampled:

After a good e/w 3rd in the 2.12 at Chepstow for Bells Of Peterboro: - click to enlarge. we move on to Huntingdon tomorrow for their big race, The Peterborough Chase (Grade 2) (GBB Race) at 2.55pm: oddschecker Verdict - First Flow and Mister Fisher have landed the last two renewals of this contest, and they demand the utmost respect again. There could be a different name etched on to the trophy this year, however, in the shape of PIC D'ORHY. Paul Nicholls' seven-year-old returned to action with a comfortable success at Newton Abbot in October and further improvement is a distinct possibility on his second start following a wind surgery. Millers Bank heads the remainder - Prediction: 1st Pic DOrhy, 2nd First Flow, 3rd Mister Fisher TIMEFORM VERDICTThis looks PIC D'ORHY's toughest assignment over fences to date but Paul Nicholls' gelding's efforts in novice events last term suggest he should be up to making his mark in this company and he is narrowly fancied to get the better of First Flow, who won this on his reappearance last term. Millers Bank appeals as best of the rest in a competitive Grade 2.

Well after not looking yesterday and missing out on Peterborough trainer, Mrs Sly's, good thing at Huntingdon 2.22: William Cody (9/4), held up in touch behind leaders, went 2nd 4 out, led before 2 out, clear last, easily!
We look to Chepstow 14:10 Coral Racing Club Handicap Hurdle (GBB Race) to see whether Bells Of Peterboro can make it two in a row (2021 Bells of Peterboro 6yo 10-9 6/1 J: Alan Johns T: Tim Vaughan) - should get your money back at worst if placed with a couple of firms offering 4 places (Skybet & W.Hill).
Timeform VERDICT - A very competitive handicap. WEST TO THE BRIDGE has the tongue tie he wore when gaining all 4 wins last season refitted for the first time the term and might be worth chancing to bounce back to form having dipped to 3 lb below his last successful mark. Last year's winner Bells of Peterboro and the returning Green Book head the many possible dangers.

Just debating whether to do this: Xcitations g(GB) 17 Form: -41172 Age: 8 Weight: 11 - 12 Colour: b Dam: Bonnets Pieces Sire: Universal Dam's Sire: Alderbrook Thorney Trainer: Mrs P Sly - Jockey: Sam Twiston-Davies
Front 2 hardening but I do like CD winners - it's often like a football team playing at home compared to playing away?
oddschecker Verdict Pay The Piper capitalised on a falling mark when winning at Musselburgh last month and the eight-year-old is not taken lightly off 6lb higher. However, preference is for CALICO, who was last seen giving the classy Jonbon a fright in the Grade 2 Kingmaker Novices' Chase at Warwick and a 1lb nudge in the ratings may underestimate his ability. C&D winner Xcitations has been in good form and makes most appeal of the remainder.
Prediction: 1st Calico, 2nd Pay The Piper, 3rd Xcitations
Racing TV/timeform verdict: It's possible to make a case for all of these. A 6 lb rise for PAY THE PIPER's comfortable Musselburgh success doesn't look too severe so he's the suggestion. Calico and Xcitations may give him most to do.
