born 16 Apr 1959 Stephen Singleton, saxophonist with English pop band ABC who as part of the New Romantic movement had the 1982 UK No.4 & 1983 US No.18 'The Look Of Love'. Their 1982 debut album, The Lexicon of Love, was a UK No.1 and they achieved ten UK and five US Top 40 hit singles between 1981 and 1990.

19 Apr 1985 Bryan Adams was on the UK album chart with Reckelss. His fourth studio album was the first Canadian album to sell more than one million units within Canada. Six singles were released from the album: ‘Run to You,’ ‘Somebody,’ ‘Heaven,’ ‘Summer of '69,’ ‘One Night Love Affair,’ and ‘It's Only Love.’ All six singles made the top 15 on the US Billboard Hot 100, a feat that at the time had been accomplished previously only by Michael Jackson's Thriller.

25 Apr 2007 American singer Bobby "Boris" Pickett died of leukaemia at the age of 69. Scored the Halloween anthem 'The Monster Mash' in 1962. The song had been banned by The BBC in the UK, deemed offensive and wasn't a hit until 1973. It was a spoof on the dance crazes popular at the time, including the Twist and the Mashed Potato.

Andrew Ivan Bell (born 25 April 1964) is an English singer-songwriter, and lead singer of the synth-pop duo Erasure. The band achieved mainstream success (receiving a Brit Award for Best British Group).
Bell grew up in the Dogsthorpe area of Peterborough. His family still reside in the city and surrounding areas such as Market Deeping. Bell was educated at the King's School in the city.

And worked with Morrissey, Slaughter & The Dogs, The Wildhearts, The Rich Kids, Elton John, Johnny Cougar, T-Bone Burnett.

It's quite sobering at times, especially when I see those listed on a certain date who died at a young age of illness or other tragedy. Often I didn't realise that they'd gone, and you're right, a little part of you goes with that realisation.

7 May 1992 Nigel Preston drummer with The Cult died in London, England aged 32 (although Wikipedia says 2Preston died of a drug overdose on 1 April 1992, three days before his 29th birthday"). Was a founding member of The Death Cult, he also played and recorded with Sex Gang Children, Theatre of Hate and The Gun Club.
- Preston refused to accept being put on wages after the song became a hit and his bandmates believed him to be unreliable due to his use of drugs; these matters led to his departure from the band in June 1985. Wikipedia?
