So has flappy managed to guess the right team yet Who knows, certainly not flappy. When you predict teams with so many different riders it’s possible you might get 1 or 2 right. The Peterborough thread with the usual suspects is painful reading. Somebody mentioned Flappy to me last week and said he was the same on the Posh forums until he got found out and then changed his name to Gaffer. He is guessing like a lot of others and as you say when you name as many riders as he has he is bound to get some right.

Moody had a speedway forum going at the same time as Cheesywotsits alternative job. If you look at the ET reports on the Posh when they do Twitter comments, Moody often appears which is why he's so versed on the topic as well.

Just learnt Mick George group been sold to Hansons. Mick George main sponsor of Posh and also own Dog Track. Any chance this will effect Panthers Right on cue Rodders. It's another Fengate plan that'll probably never see the light of day Peterborough's 91-year-old Greyhound Stadium could be demolished to make way for new employment hub - The proposed employment hub could create over 300 jobs and provide a £11.2m boost to the local economy.Plans have been submitted to demolish Peterborough’s historic former Greyhound Stadium in Fengate and turn it into an employment hub. The stadium was first opened in 1931 and extended to include a new grandstand and restaurant in the 1980s, with further seating added in 2003. The stadium closed during the pandemic in May 2020 and was subsequently sold to Fengate Land Holdings, of Apollo House, Minerva Business Park, Lynch Wood in May 2021. It is Fengate Land Holdings that has drawn up plans to demolish the stadium and redevelop the site. A hybrid application has been put forward which seeks detailed planning permission for nine commercial units to the north called ‘Area A’ as well as outline planning permission for up 11 industrial units across 12,000 square metres on ‘Area B’ to the south. Fengate Land Holdings estimates that the project would provide 65 on-site construction jobs, up to 260 on-site operational jobs and boost to the local economy to the tune of £11.2m per year. The site and its car park are currently informally used by several local car sales and repair businesses but would be used for the new commercial units- each with a total floor space of 99 square meters in size under the new plans. In order to satisfy planning rules to allow the site to be converted into the employment hub from its previous leisure use, the previous owners have provided a statement confirming its continued use as a greyhound track was no longer viable. It stated: “The greyhound racing industry has experienced over recent years, a shortage of Greyhounds which has led to a decline in the number trainers wishing to race at the stadium. In addition, the increased popularity of online betting saw a decline in the number of spectators visiting the venue. "Several leisure-led purchasers were approached for a sale, however, increased coverage from animal welfare campaigners led to negative PR concerns from buyers and deterred future interest. "Contact was made with other Greyhound track owners around the UK, however, limited interest was gained. The closure of the track was considered to be a positive for other stadiums with the elimination of a competitor.” The previous owners also confirmed that discussions were held with Peterborough United Football Club, which has been evaluating sites for their proposed new stadium.Plans can be viewed on the council’s planning portal using reference 22/01699/FUL. peterboroughtoday/peterboroughs-91-year-old-greyhound-stadium-could-be-demolished-to-make-way-for-new-employment-hub 15/12/22

Almost word for word. Which is one of the reasons I’ve constantly stated Fengate Greyhound Stadium will never happen. The other being it is surrounded by houses, that look like they should also be demolished. Speedway would never get planning permission, in my opinion.

Assume no news tonight at quiz? Could not go as wife ill. Thought I'd give it to the morning but same day, different ....! No news and everyone screaming for an update. I thought last night would have been the ideal opportunity to announce something of some sort. Assume that there must be good reason for the silence because it doesn't look good going forward if it's communication incompetence? Must be a helluva lot of i's to dot & t's to cross.

He'll be 46 when the season starts and is as accident prone and brittle as Iversen who'll be 41 in June - that's a season wrecking gamble if they are entertaining those two?

jeez some deluded people about remember Swales saying that nitro Nicki would improve his 10.45 average when he last signed he wouldn’t average 8 if he signed now r/r will be turning up more than pedersen I thought Pedersen was quite disappointing when he last rode for us and made a real habit of knocking his team mates off, Batchelor, Buzkowski and Sundstrom from memory. How many remember the incident with Kenneth Bjerre when he pretty much stuffed Bjerre in the fence to beat him to the finish line at Alwalton, Bjerre was livid and I was told that Bjerre had a right go at him in the pits saying he would never have ridden an opponent like that to which Pedersen replied that’s why you will never be world champion.

Seen some very dirty riders in the past. Pedersen is right up there with the worst. Thinks nothing of putting a rival in the fence if it means winning a race. The move on Johnson in a GP final was a disgrace. He’s a mad man, wouldn’t want him anywhere near Peterborough.

Carpman who I believe to be the new owner or very much involved says no news tomorrow and gives no clue as to when the news will be forthcoming. Have not been overly impressed so far my many of those speculated for the team.

Have not been overly impressed so far my many of those speculated for the team. Seem more like another persona of the resident looney on the BSF? Here's one from the BSF to pick apart: "I think there’s has been a bit of an issue with the takeover, about 2 weeks ago it was all agreed and done then a couple days later it all fell through due to reasons unknown, I think they are still planning some sort of change of ownership hence the complete radio silence from the club, but as these things take time I don’t think we can expect to hear any news this year to be honest, regard to team building I reckon they probably have 7 riders signed up but if they takeover doesn’t happen they might have to have a re think as I’m guessing what buster can afford/pay will be different to city auction group man" a) So it wasn't all agreed and done? b) "Planning some sort of ownership change?" what the hell does that mean? So we might have 7 riders signed with a get out clause meaning that we start again with what's left depending on a & b? - or it might just be someone trying to make sense of the sound of silence.

If Flappy throws enough darts one will eventually hit the bullseye. His latest comments are once again guesswork and from my (limited) knowledge of the team building, incorrect.
Have a Merry Christmas and chill out, I’m sure it’ll all be divulged soon, and I believe everyone will be satisfied with the team.

PETERBOROUGH are delighted to provide a festive update on 2023 plans – with the news that Rider of the Year Benjamin Basso will be back with the club next season.
And in a further major boost, agreement has been reached with main team sponsors Crendon Timber Engineering to continue their much-valued backing of the Panthers.
21-year-old Danish racer Basso was the one new face in this year’s starting line-up, being brought in to replace fellow countryman Bjarne Pedersen who retired at the end of the title-winning campaign.
Although the Crendon Panthers as an overall unit were unable to match their exploits of 2021, Basso proved to be a huge success and quickly became a crowd favourite with his all-action style.
He announced his arrival with a spectacular 12+2 in the opening home meeting of the season against Ipswich, and went on to register a highly creditable average of 6.29 across all league matches.
His starting average for 2023 is 6.81, underlining his form in the second half of the campaign, which prompted supporters to vote him as their Rider of the Year.
The news means Basso’s UK team plans are unchanged for next season, as he will also be remaining with Glasgow in the Championship.
Meanwhile, the return of Crendon as title team sponsors is also big news for the Panthers, especially given the challenges faced by all in the current economic climate.
The Buckinghamshire-based timber firm first came on board with Peterborough in 2019 when the club returned to the Premiership, and have remained as main sponsors ever since, as part of a wide commitment to motorsports.
Crendon specialise in the design and manufacture of engineered timber products, assisting builders and developers to provide better homes.
Key personnel involved in the deal are long-term backers of speedway, with the club hugely grateful for the continued support of CEO Stephen Thompstone, and the hard work on race-nights of John Clarke in entertaining a host of invited guests.
The club are delighted to once again be known as the Crendon Panthers in 2023 and are proud to carry the name as we race around the country.
We would also like to sincerely thank our supporters for their patience during the winter so far and send everyone our compliments of the festive season.
We understand it has been a frustrating time with limited information, but we can assure supporters that extensive work is taking place behind the scenes on a range of matters, and whilst this work continues we look forward to bringing you more exciting news in the near future.

Well it's something but hopes weren't high and none of the questions that supporters really want answers to were answered. Dick was right, might have have well as waited to 2023. That's pretty meaningless apart from calming any fears that there is any doubt over 2023, not that I believe that there is any?
